Week of 1/24/11 - 1/30/11

The group run will be cancelled this coming Saturday, January 29, 2011.  Let's cross our fingers that the snow on the trails and tracks metls quickly.

I will continue to post updates each week, typically on Sundays, and organize them by week.  Instead of sending emails to each other trying to coordinate runs, I was hoping we could use the blog to coordinate run times for each week!

Let me know what you think by leaving a comment below.  :-)

  1. I will be running a 10 mile long run at Lifetime on Monday night if anyone is interested in joining me. Peter and I are running the indoor 5k on Sunday in Arlington. Looking for sub-19 PR if I can get to 25 laps this time.

  2. Keith,
We are going to come out to the race on Sunday morning to cheer you guys on (and help you count)!
    See you then!

  3. Keith I have a swim lap counter that you put on you finger you can borrow to keep track of your laps.
We want that sub 19 PR!

  6. April and I will be running on the treadmill today. Running on the snow flares up my foot pain for some reason. Also, I will wear a race bib tomorrow so the official lap counter can count for me. It's hard to think and run at the same time.

  7. I guess it will have to be the treadmill this weekend..... ;-(
We will be cheering you on on your sub 19 5K... (from the house) as you go around... and around... and around.
Be sure to post your results!

  8. Mark is doing his workout right now on the treadmill. I have to go to school later today, and then I plan to do my workout tonight on the treadmill, too. No fun! :-(

  9. Slogged in 6" snow late last night on the track. Left wondering just how many laps it takes to make a path.

A cheering section for the indoor 5k? Sweet!
Mid February will be my next PR attempt. Sunday? Hmmm...no repeat of my last performance, shooting for 19:45 or better.

  12. Sounds great, April. I will update it before I go to bed.

For everyone who is running on the treadmill this weekend... I'm reporting in. I set out to run 12 miles on the treadmill tonight, but I got REALLY bored. So, I ended up running 8 miles and then biking for 40 minutes. Not ideal, but I'm considering it a success! :-)

  13. Long runs on the dreadmill stink! I will probably give up before reaching my goal of 10 miles tomorrow. Can't wait for spring.

  14. Thanks to everyone for coming out to the track meet. That was a lot of fun. Couldn't believe how many people ran the race. It was a lot easier with people cheering.

  15. The track meet was a blast to watch. I just think it stinks that there were so many people running the 3000m & 5000m. Who know how much further you guys actually ran by having to run in the outer lanes and dodge all of the competitors. Just crazy. Congrats!

  16. Let me second Keith's comment. Your cheers really helped, I got a burst of energy every time I hit the straightaway. On top of that one of the runners paced me.
