Week of 2/7/11 - 2/13/11

Hi Rogue Racers,

This coming Sunday, February 13, 2011 several Rogue Racers are participating in the Love The Run You're With 5K and the Rock 'n' Roll Mardi Gras Marathon and Half Marathon.  Although many people will be out of town or resting for the Sunday races, I have heard through the grapevine that several people are still interested in meeting for the Saturday AM long run at the W&OD trail.  If you are interested in doing this, it might be best to comment on this post and let other people know that you plan on running (so you know who you are looking for at the trail).

I will post the results for the Sunday, February 13, 2011 races on the Rogue Racers results page as soon as they are posted.  If anyone sets a PR, please make sure to let me know so that I can put that next to your time!

We currently have 12 Rogue Racers running the Parkway Classic 10 Miler, so I have downloaded the Furman FIRST 10 mile training program and posted it to the Rogue Racers training page (along with the appropriate pace charts).  This week (week of 2/7/11 - 2/13/11) is week #9 on the training schedule, which means that Saturday's long run is a 13 miler at long tempo pace + 20 sec/mile.  If you are interesting in registering for the Parkway Classic, make sure to sign up soon since they anticipate the race selling out in the next week or so.

Schedule updates for this week:
2/8/11 - Tuesday 12:30pm track workout at Washington-Lee HS - CANCELLED
2/8/11 - Tuesday 6:30pm track workout at Chantilly HS - meeting as scheduled
2/12/11 - Saturday 8am long run at W&OD trail - meeting as scheduled

Happy training,

Holly

  2. Holly-
Thanks for the generous offer on your treadmill.. I think I will have to be happy with my 5 miles yesterday and maybe a few today or tomorrow.
BTW - John registered for the GW 10 miler this am..
    FINALLY!! ;-)

  3. Finally hit the track this weekend at Chantilly. Not a trace of snow/ice. Warm enough on Sunday for shorts and a t-shirt, without the breeze I would have overheated!

  4. Ahh spring! That oversized rat in Punxsutawny better be right or I'll eat him for Thanksgiving. I was able to get in two easy miles on a level treadmill with no pain. Trigger release (self induced pain) and compression socks baby!

  11. Holly, Mark, Keith & George bring your Rogue Racer shirts to New Orleans so we can take a picture in our shirts in NOLA. April we will take care of making sure you have a shirt too.

  12. Hannah--Absolutely love your photo. I am serious. It reminds me of home. Most of all I have found a new website--the daily puppy--perfect for me.

  13. Hannah that picture was awesome.

Holly what's the status on the RR singlets you were talking about?

  14. I'm glad you asked about the singlets!!! We were waiting for Peter's contact at Brooks to get back to us about a possible discount. If for some reason that is not a go, I did see on the website that you can get a discount for a team order. I'll probably look into that either way! I'll keep everyone posted! :-)

  15. Let me know what you hear. Another option is that I can order team supplies through our store (discount rate).

  16. Do you want to see what kind of pricing you could get on the Brooks Sprint Singlet in Maroon/White?

  17. Great run on the track tonight. I will be sure to bring my RR shirt and will have a matching jacket to wear over it at Clancy's (Don Johnson style). Are penny loafers without socks considered smart casual?

  18. Keith you are all class.

  19. Hey Guys,

Contacting Brooks today via email, they had asked me to wait until some accounts were set up, these are done now. This will be the third email, I'm thinking...no quick response here, let us just move forward?

  20. Back again. Got a quick reply, we are good to go! Holly, I'll email you with details.
