Peter and Keith rocked it out at the Thaw 5K this past Sunday. Keith ran a sub 18:30 5K for 3rd place overall, and Peter ran around 19:20 for 6th place overall. The official race results are not posted yet, but we will post official times on our website when they are available.
A couple of scheduling notes for this week:

For this Saturday's long run we have people running 6 miles, 13 miles, 15 miles, and 20 miles... so there is a distance for everybody!
Holy Schmolie..... FAST, FAST, FAST...Congrats Keith and Peter!ReplyDelete
If I just stand next to you long enough..do you think it will it rub off?
Great job Keith. Eat chocolate before every 5K. We need to get working on that chocolate chia cake asap.ReplyDelete
I think the chocolate April got me from the festival helped. The official results are out on racepacket.com. Peter finished 6th overall in 19:33 and I finished 3rd in 18:30. I even got $25 to spend at the Fenty owned Fleet Feet in DC!ReplyDelete
So are you going to spend your $25 or get it framed?ReplyDelete
I think I might spend it on a green singlet for the St. Patrick's day 8k. Maybe there I can win one of the fleece vests!!ReplyDelete
7 miles to do tonight at Lifetime around 9PM. Will likely be at the track with Peter tomorrow evening. Will post a time once I find out if there's a game at Chantilly.ReplyDelete
Sounds good. You are on fire, Keith! Are you coming on Saturday or is April?ReplyDelete
I'll probably be there around 9AM to run the last 8 miles with Jenn as she does her 20 mile long run.ReplyDelete
I'm going to try to be at the track at 6:30 for a short run today. I didn't see any home games scheduled for Chantilly.ReplyDelete
Great to be back on the W+OD. Even greater to have a Chocolate Chia Mousse recovery cake afterward! Thanks Kelly that was awesome. Yes, I saved some for April.ReplyDelete
Ran a 31:13 at the St. Patrick's day 8k and was able to be a part of the team that placed 1st. One of the guys even won the grand prize pedal/hybrid bike in the raffle. Fun race!ReplyDelete
That is awesome, Keith! You are on fire!ReplyDelete
Great run Keith. I told you that you needed a little chocolate before each race. Plus the Chia keeps you hydrated.ReplyDelete
Chocolate and chia. A match made in heaven. That's all I had to eat before the race and felt great.ReplyDelete
Peter and I will be at the track today around 6:30. We can now go running without our headlights.ReplyDelete
We ran around the Chantilly neighborhoods for 3 miles and then around the school 6 times (1/2 mile per loop around the school) due to soccer and lacrosse games. We will be at the track tomorrow at 8:45 for anyone who wants to run with headlights.ReplyDelete
Just finished the track workout. 800 (400 RI), 1600 (400 RI), 800 (400 RI), and 1600. Whew!!! It was hard, but I feel good now that it is over. Good luck to everyone heading out there tonight!ReplyDelete
Woohoo! Rainy run in Chantilly tonight. We will be at the track again tomorrow at 6:30.ReplyDelete
I saw girls soccer home games scheduled for tonite 5:30-7pm. DO they play soccer on that field? I was thinking of going tonight since I missed yesterday.
According to the web site both soccer games have been cancelled.ReplyDelete
Just confirmed that the games at Chantilly HS tonight (Wednesday) are cancelled! Have fun on your run everyone! :-)ReplyDelete
@ Keith: Way to go man! All that track work is paying off! Did you race in the Kinvaras?ReplyDelete
I wore the Saucony type A4s sans socks for my last two races and they are awesome. It's amazing how training with Peter and focusing the 5k has really helped with improving speed (and losing weight).
Good track workout yesterday. Good to see Nancy there doing speedwork to get ready for the ten miler. We will be at the track again tonight at 8:50.ReplyDelete
Way to go Nancy!ReplyDelete
Finally, somebody combined the two best things in the world: Rap and Long Distance Running.ReplyDelete
Check out the video on vegan Rich Roll's website:
"No milk, no cheese, no eggs, no meat….Just meditation. And peace. Red lentils. Chick peas. Good workout. Good sleep. More sunshine, light breeze…"
Rich Roll is now one of my top 5 favorite athletes after seeing/hearing that. Still not going vegan though!ReplyDelete
Mo milk, mo cheese, mo eggs, mo meat....Stressful mornings. And AM traffic. Red Robbin, Chick fil a. Late workout, no sleep, rainy days and 50mph winds.ReplyDelete
We can do this rap thing too!
I will get some gold caps for my teeth and we'll do a video. I love the Red Robin and Chick fil A. I know Holly will be down with Chick fil A. Word up!ReplyDelete
It was deja vu all over again today at the G.C. Round Elementary Shamrock 5k. 18:30 and 3rd overall (same as my last 5k)and a $25 gift card to The Running Store in Gainseville. Slightly hilly course so I was not able to maintain the sub 5:50 pace past 2 miles. The event was really well organized and had a lot of friendly people and some familiar faces. Highly recommend it for those looking for a good 5k to run next March.ReplyDelete
