Weeks #20 - #25: 5/13/13 - 6/23/13

Post your miles from weeks 20 through 25 here!

Also, summer is right around the corner.  Would anyone be up for starting Tuesday night track days at Chantilly (7:30pm) and Saturday morning longer run days at the W&OD trail (8:00am) back up on a more consistent basis?

  1. Week 20: 6 miles for YTD: 684. 2 fairly rough miles at 7 days post-op and 4 miles today (10 post-op) in 30:15. Very little pain and felt good to get a mile in under 7 toward the end.

  8. Congrats April on your half marathon! I think I'm running one in November, the Richmond half. Hannah is doing the full, but I don't have the desire to do another full yet.

  9. What about getting the group together again for another Shamrock Fest in March?

  10. Hi everyone. Been awhile since I posted...I guess from before Boston. Ran decently at Boston until the last 5. Went from 6:25s to 8 min avg over the last 6-7 k with a lot of hobbling cramps. But none of that really mattered after the events. I'll definitely be back next year for sure. Got a hotel hopkington so will have a smarter start next year. Took 2 weeks completely off after Boston, and then tried to get back into things. Had been fighting a weird foot injury thing since the marathon in Columbia in march and it was pretty touch and go for a while, but I've put in the last two weeks mostly pain free so things are looking up. I added up my mileage total for the year and am up to 1415 (64 mpw avg). Hayley picked up a little hop floor.strain and has been rehabbing it the last two weeks but ran pain free Saturday for 12 minutes so she will be back on track soon.-Adam

  13. Adam, I found your posts very entertaining. So thank you to the auto-correct. It's frustrating but oh so funny.

  14. Darn hip flexors! You already got a place for Boston? I guess I better do the same. Looking forward to next year.

  15. Keith my 2:55 at Columbia from march and I guess even the 3:01 at Boston are both qualifiers for 2014. I hope to lower it down before Boston at a race somewhere maybe in the fall. I'd like to make the first corral but probably need to break 2:50 to do that.

  16. Yeah. I have Steamtown as a qualifier and will try for a new PR this fall at Savannah. Let me know which Marathon you plan on running. We'll have to get together for a good long run.

    1. Jessica,

I think a BRO run would be good. Anyone from the group interested? Also, Are we doing these long runs and track workouts? Haven't heard and I wouldn't mind bringing Daryl and Julian with me to the track.

    2. Hi guys,

I think the plan is to start the weeknight track workouts again. Maybe Monday night at Chantilly around 7:30pm or so?

  24. Hi,
Justin and I have been running at the track all along. Nancy and George joins us every now and then. We go to Fairfax High at 5:30 whenever we can. That is usually 2 nights a week.

  25. Week 25: 55.5 miles YTD: 893. Finally running at close to 100%. Now I have to shed the extra 7 or 8 pounds of post surgical depression weight and get back to racing. Is anyone doing the Let Freedom Run 5k?

  26. George and I will be in NM that weekend so no we won't be there.
