Weeks #26 - #30: 6/24/13 - 7/28/13

Group runs for the this month (schedule through Wednesday, July 31, 2013):

  • Monday nights 6:00pm @ Chantilly HS Track
  • Wednesday nights 6:00pm @ at Chantilly HS Track
  • Saturday mornings 8:00am @ W&OD Trail Vienna

Kelly and George have been keeping the group runs going this summer, so be sure to give them a shout out (or join them at one of the group workouts) before the summer ends!

  1. Hello summer! So humid. Week total: 46.5. YTD: 939.5. Ran Abebe Bekele 5k and died after mile one. 18:3? in the afternoon heat. Hopefully will get back into the 17s soon. Winner ran 14:15. Nuts

  7. 63 for YTD 1118 (week 29). Will try a couple of weeks in the 70s, take a break, then build up to the 80s and 90s before Savannah. 5 pounds down from surgery and will try to lose 15 more to get under 135 for the Marathon.

    Week 27: 4.5 miles
    Week 28: 5 miles
    Week 29: 7 miles

    Year to date: 210 miles.

    No more running for me until mystery foot pain resolves, doctor's orders. Keep your fingers crossed for me that someone somewhere can figure out how I can fix it...13 weeks til Savannah and I have a feeling that training on the recumbent elliptical will be far from adequate.

  11. Week 30: 70 miles and YTD: 1188. Ran 17:58 at the Crystal City Twilight 5k in the driving rain. No pain and good to get back in the 17s again. Ran a nice long run this morning at Champe Ford road in Middleburg with several really good runners from this area. Would have liked to have stopped at Chrysalis Vineyard, but at 9:30 AM I don't think they were doing wine tastings yet.
